IDCS reflowing text from ID 1.5/2.0 docs
We are a commercial printer using IDCS. A client recently sent us an ID 1.5 file. We noticed that the text reflowed when the file was opened in IDCS. It was fine if opened in ID 2.0. IDCS also reported that a font was missing and ID 2 did not.
Even though we made sure the reported (IDCS) missing font was loaded, we still kept ending up with text reflow problems.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is there anyway around this, outside of having to still use ID 2.0?

Re: IDCS reflowing text from ID 1.5/2.0 docs
Jeff,
Instead of loading the font, why not try this: copy the font into the InDesign CS fonts subfolder. Maybe it will *see* it there and be happier with it. Maybe the text wont reflow. Make sure it really is the same font, not merely similar or same name.
Couldn't hurt,

Re: IDCS reflowing text from ID 1.5/2.0 docs
Mike
The font in question is loaded through Adobe Type Manager Deluxe. We have not been reloading it for each version of ID. So the font is loaded in ATM. When the font is opened in 2.0 everything is fine. When it is opened in CS, the missing font dialog opens and says that two of the fonts are missing, even though they are both open in ATM. Complicating matters, CS refers to the fonts differently than in ID2.0. For example, the client used the font Korrina EF Heavy. In CS it asks for Korrina Bold. Since they also used an ITC Korrina, which has a bold, the prepress person picked the bold font thinking that is what was the one missing since CS didn't say it was looking for Korrina Heavy. If we pick Korrina Heavy there is no reflow and the file is fine.
The file also used the font DIN-Medium. We only have one version of the clients DIN-Medium loaded. In ID 2.0 the font is seen. In CS it says it is missing and we have to manually choose the font.
From a prepress standpoint this is a problem. If ID refers to and sees fonts differently from one version to the next, there is an awful lot of room for error (as happened to us).
