IDCS2 - Overprint Table Strokes and Inline Graphics?
I'm running into a situation and maybe I'm missing something. I want to verify what I believe might be an issue when it comes to trapping. The scenario being I have a table comprised of inline graphics (psd files) that clip to their respective cells. I also have a 5 pt 'spot' stroke applied to all rows and columns.
My issue is that when adjusting the stroke width it also shifts the inline graphic! This is a pain in the neck when wanting to trap a 'spot' colour stroke to the the inline graphic. Ideally I would have the inline graphic align to the edge of the cell (which has inset values of 0) and ignore the stroke, resulting in a proper trap.
I know the default trap presets allow trapping objects to butting images, but this doesn't seem applicable in the case of an inline graphic within a table cell. I don't see the result when viewed in 'Overprint Preview' mode (which kind of makes sense) or when i output to the Adobe PDF 7.0 queue using In-Rip Seps and In-RIP trapping.
If the default trap presets are trapping everything properly, I suspect that I can't see the results unless viewing the resulting traps at the RIP stage.

I don't know for sure, but I think InDesign's trapping engine should trap in such a case.

In-Rip Seps and In-RIP trapping.
I think all that is explicable as InDesign does not previews trapping. Also, turning on in-RIP trapping will do nothing when printing to Distiller as Distiller does not have a trapping engine.
You might, however, get the result you're after if you print to Adobe PDF using In-Rip Separations and "Application Built-In" trapping.
