IDCS2 printing problem: photos print pixellated

I am asking this on behalf of a friend, so don't have as much information as I could have. The friend is a newcomer to Macintosh and to InDesign. He has placed high res JPEG photographic images into InDesign. They appear pixelated onscreen. I directed him to the view menu and display performance settings. He had the settings on 'typical display', but when he changed, he said it still looked pixelated. I'll tell to check object level settings and preferences.

However, the major problem is that the photos are PRINTING pixelated, and I can't see that the display setting should have anything to do with that. I've been using InDesign for several years and have never encountered this problem. I've done a keyword search in the InDesign online help, these forums and the Adobe database but have found nothing that addresses the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Print menu>Graphic>Send Data..set to All.
