IDCS2 will not launch in a User account
Installed CSCS2 in Admin. Account on Intel Mac-2GB RAM. Set up User account-only restriction is user is not allowed to modify the Dock.
All other applications launch in the user account except ID-CS2. It hangs up on sing gaiji at the beginning of the launch and then I get a message saying ID is not responding. It will open if I give user Admin. privileges but I can do that. They are students.

Re: IDCS2 will not launch in a User account
Has the version of InDesign CS2 been updated to 4.0.3? There is a fix in that update that address problems with SING.
If not, does a reboot help (or have you already tried that)?

Re: IDCS2 will not launch in a User account
If the 4.0.3 update doesn't do the trick, try changing the permissions on /Library/Application Support/Adobe/SING/ to READ + WRITE for everybody, and DO apply the changes to all enclosed items.
See instructions here:

Re: IDCS2 will not launch in a User account
Thanks! I've been at this one workstation all day and I have 44 more workstations to go. I will print out this tech doc and give it a fresh go in the morning.

Re: IDCS2 will not launch in a User account
I took your suggestions and started troubleshooting.. I finally got one to work but by that time I had no idea how I got there. I did reset the plug-ins to required-Not sure if that was necessary but since the Intel Macs are on shakey territory with CS2 I thought it wouldn't hurt.
Also Photoshop 9.0.1 said it would not install but Info. says Version 9.0.1. So, go figure? Fall semester will be interesting. I always get to find out what doesn't work when the students come back.
