IE 5 or IE 6 or Netscape? - Macromedia Dreamweaver

I have created a site, Real4wd.com. I borrowed a slick menu sliding bar and it looks very cool. Two things... The links directly under the bar don?t work because the bar somehow interferes with the mouse click and apparently, the bar doesn?t work at all, hence none of the menu items work in EI 5 or below. Anyone out there with EI 5 or below, could you test the site and report your findings to me? Also, curious about Netscape or other browsers. If anyone has some answers about this behavior, I would be greatly appreciative. com http://www.real4wd.com Referring URLs ...

    Sorry - looks Horrid (layout not content) in Mozilla 1.4 (What the latest Netscape is based on),

    The popup menus appear in the wrong place, and in fact only the one for the home page appears.

    It takes several seconds to disappear.

    The nice graphic that follows the mouse along the bar in IE6 is absent totally.

    On my 1280x1024 display the screen is filled, the bar takes up one half and the pictures of the two cars right aligned so they look very odd - screen shot at http://www.chawke.co.uk/images/site_check.gif

    Hope it all comes together.

    Oh and in Opera 6.05 the menus don't work at all - you may want to add a link to the actual visible button, so if the menus don't work, a link will still take a user somewhere.

    In Netscape 4.7 it sort of all works, not as nice as in IE.

    I didn't try it in my screen reader as maybe those with sight impairments shouldn't be looking at buying HumVees !

    CHawke...

    Are you running several machines or do you have all of these browsers loaded on one machine? I am at a disadvantage running only the verylatest EI 6.0.2800.1106.++++whatever. I only see Bill Gates vision of my sites. Then I wory about loading previous versions and other guys products because I don't want my computer to have a coronary.

    I seem to have answered your question before even seeing it in my last post.

    One version of Mozilla, One of Opera and one of Netscape 4.7 all live happily together on my PC.

    I test my work site on my home PC on smaller CRT base monitor (rather than huge LCD screen at work) to make sure it is all still visible.

    As I work in the UK public sector I also run my site through a screen reader to see how hard of sight people would "see" it.

    You may also want to switch off Java support to see how it behaves when now java is allowed.

    I occasionally teast on a PDA and even my old Psion 5MX

    Hope all that helps, time to go home now :-D

    I'm afraid your code is hopelessly hosed. It falls completely apart in
    Mozilla. One example of ed up code is that several images have
    oddball attributes:

    <img alt="Home" page=""
    src="Kascar%20Real%204wd.com%20Hummer%20and%20Humv ee%20parts%20and%20service_files/nav_home.gif"
    border="0" name="01" ?722412002002003="">

    Where did page="" and ?722412002002003="" come from?

    <img alt="About" our="" company=""
    src="Kascar%20Real%204wd.com%20Hummer%20and%20Humv ee%20parts%20and%20service_files/nav_aboutus.gif"
    border="0" name="02" ?722412002002003="">

    Where did our="" and ?722412002002003="" come from?

    There are a bunch of them that have strange things like that.

    You have a bunch of nesting errors where open tags are not closed
    before you start something else. For example:

    <td height="10" colspan="3" nowrap="nowrap">
    <div align="center"> <b><font size="-1" face="Arial, Helvetica,
    sans-serif"><a
    href="http://www.real4wd.com/content/h-2-vehicles.asp">Vehicles</a><font
    size="-1" face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><font color="#ff0000">
    </td>

    The <div align="center"> is not closed inside the <td> tag as it
    should be. The result is that stuff gets scattered all over the page.
