IE, NN, AOL, Mozilla, and.... JavaScript, Missing Thread - Macromedia Dreamweaver

I wrote a thread last night at about 1:30 AM eastern time and I thought I posted it under Dreamweaver General Discussion. I can't find it in the listing. It shows up under "My Forums" and it looks like it should be under General Discussion. Does anyone know how to find out wher it may have strayed to? Default IE, NN, AOL, Mozilla, and.... JavaScript, Missing Thread

    I have a JavaScript problem and I don't know where else it might be posted. I have gotten very good responses from this site. So here goes...

    I have an animation that I created by manipulating layers with a JavaScript routine (I wrote). The animation works well in Internet Explorer and AOL, but it doesn't work at all in Netscape Navigator or Mozilla (I'm new to Mozilla, I gather there is a strong relationship between NN and Mozilla). You can see the animation at www.meblake.com. I wrote the JavaScript myself, but there are other JS routines to center the layers that I downloaded from this site that are not working either, but some are. The Macromedia routines seem to work everywhere.

    Anyway, I'm going crazy because I can't find anything nonstandard I did. The code for my JavaScript routine (which can also be found at www.meblake.com/mainFrameCOVER2.htm) is:

    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript">
    <!--

    var startFly;
    var counter1;
    var counter2;
    count1=-888;
    count2=-888;
    count3=-888;
    count4=187;
    count5=222;

    function fly(frgrnd, mdgrnd, bkgrnd, plane1, plane2){
    // foreground - slide three pixels
    frgrnd.style.left = count1;
    count1 = count1 + 3;
    if (count1 > 352) count1 = -888;
    // midground - slide two pixels
    mdgrnd.style.left = count2;
    count2 = count2 + 2;
    if (count2 > 352) count2 = -888;
    // background - slide one pixel
    bkgrnd.style.left = count3;
    count3 = count3 + 1;
    if (count3 > 352) count3 = -888;
    // jenny - random jitter
    counter1 = Math.random();
    counter1 = Math.round(counter1 * 100);
    if (counter1 > 90) {
    if (counter1 > 97) {
    plane1.style.top = count4 + 2;
    }
    else {
    plane1.style.top = count4 + 1
    }
    }
    else {
    plane1.style.top = count4;
    }
    // jenny2 - a little less random jitter
    counter2 = Math.random();
    counter2 = Math.round(counter2 * 100);
    if (counter2 > 93) {
    plane2.style.top = count5 + 1
    }
    else {
    plane2.style.top = count5;
    }
    }

    //-->
    </script>

    It is called from an ONLOAD in a BODY tag:

    <body bgcolor="#333333" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0"

    onLoad="startFly=setInterval('fly(doent.all.for eground,doent.all.midground,doent.all.backgr ound,doent.all.jenny,doent.all.jenny2)',80);

    MM_showHideLayers('message1','','hide','loading',' ','hide','Layer1','','show','foreground','','show' ,'midground','','show','background','','show','jen ny','','show','cover','','show');

    BW_centerLayers('loading','true','true','200','50' ,'0','0','false','false','false','Layer1','true',' true','710','575','0','0','false','false','false') "

    onUnload="MM_showHideLayers('message1','','hide',' loading','','show','Layer1','','hide')">

    If there is anyone out there who might be able to give me a clue as to what the NN and Mozilla are objecting to I would greatly appreciate it.

    Lastly, does anyone know where I can find a good tutorial on Venkman 1.4?

    Thanks,

    Michael

    NN 6+ and Mozilla do not use doent.all. You need to use
    doent.GetElementById

    Oh thank you, thank you, thank you. I will look at this over the weekend, but that's the kind of thing I might have gone crazy trying to find out for myself.

    Thank you for helping.
