    If you merge 2 PDFs, the quality of the single pages does not change.

    Example: If you have 2 PDF files good for printing, you will end up with one single PDF file good for printing (assuming that those are created for the same printing condition)

    If you merge a "good" and a "bad" PDF, you end up with one single PDF that contains of pages different print quality.

    You can easily use the build in preflight tool to check the quality of the resulting PDF
