Default Ignore EXIF registry utility has no effect

My understanding was that the Ignore EXIF Color Space utility would change Photoshop behaviour such that a dialog box would ask for a source profile when opening a raw camera file. When opening a raw file after installation, there is still no dialog box to allow me to change the source profile.

I made sure that my color management policies were not 'off'. I ensured that the registry entry was added and performed a reboot for good measure but to no avail.Any help would be appreciated!

    I am using Win 2K SP4, Adobe 7.0.1 with Canon D60.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

What about your color management policies? Are they set to 'Ask when
opening' when you either open a document without an embedded profile
(missing profiles) or when you open a document with another profile
than your working space (profile mismatches) ?

I wanted assign a source color profile when ACR opens the Canon raw file.

You can do that, in the lower left hand corner of the Camera raw dialog box. If you're not getting the Camera Raw interface, hold down the alt key when opening a .crw file.

    Hi Mark,
Actually, I didn't mean the Camera Raw dialog box not showing. I was expecting an Assign Profile dialog box of some kind to let me choose a custom camera profile before the Camera Raw dialog box appears.
    Sorry for the confusion.
    Thanks,
