illstrtr wrongly saves my .ai files as .pdfs

    Default illstrtr wrongly saves my .ai files as .pdfs

    when i try to save an existint ai file with heavy text, it saves it as a .ai file that shows up as a pdf icon on the desktop and wont open in illustrator anymore!

    I think this might be an FAQ and a known bug - the workaround is to always name your art with extension ".ai".

    This happens to me sometimes too. I don't know if it's automatically switching to pdf or if I'm actually somehow changing it to pdf(without knowing) so I just open the "pdf" file in illustrator and save it again as .ai, then it's fine.
