Illustrator 10 compatibility with os 10.3 Panther
Is Illustrator 10 compatible with OS 10.3 Panther? Every time I open Illustrator 10 it is asking for Suitcase 10 or higher. I took Suitcase off my machine because it seemed to be fighting Panther's built in font manager Fontbook. Now Illustrator 10 is not recognizing fonts loaded in Fontbook. HELP!

Re: Illustrator 10 compatibility with os 10.3 Panther
Yes, it is. The answer to your startup problem with AI asking for suitcase is to take the Suitcase plugin out of the AI folder. Once that's done, you should be able to use fontbook. Conversely, if you'd rather use suitcase, keep that plugin right where it is, and take all the fonts out of fontbook and don't open it.
Be aware, though, I just converted to fontbook and I can't open my swatch libraries right now. I've got a posting on this website and we're trying to fix the issue.
Hope this helps,
Scott
