Illustrator 10 Filters & Effects
How do I use the filters and effects? I've rasterized the shapes, tried to convert to RGB. Nothing works. The filters and effects are always grayed out/unusable. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Illustrator 10 Filters & Effects
Apparently, the image that you want to apply filters and/or effects to has to be in RGB mode and must be rasterized. So if your document is CMYK, you have to create a new RGB Illustrator doc, apply whatever filters you want, rasterize the image and drag or copy it back to your original doc.

Re: Illustrator 10 Filters & Effects
First, no need to open a new docuemtn. Just change your documents color setting from CMYK to RGB (File - Document Color Mode). When your finished with the filters/effects, just switch back.
Next - the artwork has to be rasterized and converted to RGB only for the Filters to work. As long as the document is in RGB mode, the artwork can be CMYK and it can remain vectors for the Effects to work. But you'll lose the effects if you convert back to CMYK mode unless you rasterize.
