illustrator 10 to save and print
I am a new user to illustrator and I am using 10.0.3. I have a design with some text, shapes and an image that I transferred from photoshop and everything looks fine for now in CMYK colors on screen, however the people who are going to print it ask for the file to be in either one of these formats .TIFF, .EPS(300dpi and in CMYK) or illustrator 6 with all text in curves. I have tried saving the file as a .TIFF and the color changed dramatically. When I try Illustrator 6 it gives the message that some information will be lost. What should I do? Does anyone have any advice? And what does "all text in curves" mean? Thanks a lot.

Re: illustrator 10 to save and print
You printer wants the file saved in format for a nine year old program? Find a printer that has newer software, for one.
Also, you might not have a problem with AI 6 files, so long as you aren't using transparency, gradient mesh, or blurring and shadow filters. Save as to that format, then open and print the file. If it looks the same, then you're fine.
As for the TIFF issue, how are you making the TIFF image? Are you exporting as TIFF, rasterizing in Illustartor, or rasterizing in Photoshop from the original Illustrator file? Of those, I recommend the latter.

Re: illustrator 10 to save and print
Either Tiff OR ai6? Send 'em both. EXPORT as a 300ppi cmyk tif, and SAVE AS the old version. Open it again to see if anything was really lost. That warning applies to thinks later versions od AI is CAPABLE of (like transparency), not neccessarily things you used.
