Illustrator 11 eps placed in Xpress file prevents it from printing

Referring to the topic "Problems printing a Quark file with an illustrator placed image":

today I deleted Illustor CD, and worked only with Illustrator 10. All eps files placed in Xpress were saved as illustrator 10 eps. I did not have any print problems. So this makes me think Illustrator 11, even wen exporting a version 10 eps, causes my print problems, on my laserwriter.

Can anybody help me solving this problem?

Sometimes I have problems printing from Quark Xpres passport on my laserwriter, if there is a placed Illustrator 11 eps file. After I print the file from Xpress, I can see the print appearing in Laserwriter window queue. The after a wile file listed in the window disappears, but it is not printed. I get no error messages or other. It disappear as it was printed but it is not.
Sometimes, but not always, if I restart the mac, and try to print the same file, it is printed. But If i try to print it again, from the second print the problem occurs.
If I delete in Quark Xpress the illustrator eps file (wich is a simple vectorial shape), then I do not have any problems printing.
If I open the original illustrator artwork from illustrrator 10, and save it as Illustrator 10 eps instead of Illustrator 11 eps, and place it into the same Xpress file, I do not have any print problems.
I have a laserwriter 4-600 PS connected to my G4 1000 DP by a Diana serial to ethernet interface called "EtherPrint Plus".
Can anybody help?
I cannot save an illustrator 10 eps file from Illustrator 11, right? If I could, anyway, it does not sound a good solution.
