Default Illustrator 8.0 print problem, vertical offset, just one file

I print lots of CD labels with 8.0 on win xp computer. This one file prints about 3/8" high on the page. It looks totally normal in the preview screen, same as the other files.
    What causes the vertical offset?

    Jesse,

Is page tiling set the same way as in the other files?

Yes, they are the same, single page.
The same help file section talks about a "page tool" to move the graphics on the page. I cannot find the page tool, the help files do not refer to the group or location of the tool.
What I eventually did was to un-lock everything on the page and "select all" from the edit menu and moved everything down some.
    This worked.

    Thanks,
    Jesse

all" from the edit menu and moved everything down some.

That's not the way to do it.

The page tool is what you use to set page tiling. It allows you to define the area of your artboard that will print.

To show page tiling go to menu bar | View | Show Page Tiling. (It toggles between 'Show' and 'Hide'.) You should now see a light dotted line corresponding to the printable area, based on your printer selection.

My guess is that the page tiling was off on that one file.

To access the page tool, click and HOLD on the hand tool for a second or two. Additional tools will fly out. Click on the middle tool to select the page tool. Double-clicking on the page tool will align the print area to the lower left corner of your artboard.

Note that the area in between the inner and outer dotted lines represents the non-printable area of the page as calculated from info supplied by your printer driver, so make sure all art falls inside the inner lines.
