Hello,

I have set up both my artboard and printer (Acrobat Distiller 5) in
Illustrator 8 for landscape printing. When I print to PDF and look at
the file, I see that the landscape printing has worked BUT that the
Acrobat reader opens in portrait mode. ie. The orientation of the
text/graphics on the page is correct but I have to click the 90 degree
rotate tool in Acrobat Reader to put the short sides along the
vertical and the
long sides along the horizontal. I tried several of the ideas from
this newsgroup such as turning off Auto Rotate but none of them were
solutions to this problem.

As a test, I printed a Powerpoint file to PDF through Distiller. PPT
files are normally landscape mode. The PDF file did come up with the
short sides vertical and the long sides horizontal. No 90 degree
rotation required.

My Illustrator->PDF file is destined for a webpage. I would like it
to open up in the proper orientation to make it convenient for people
who visit the site and download the file.

Suggestions appreciated.
