    Default Illustrator 9.0

Can I scan images into Illustrator 9.0? If so, once thats done, can i vectorize the art I scanned in.

If I cant do either of these, what program do I need to scan and vectorize art?

    Thanks!

    Chris,

No. Illustrator won't initiate a scan, but once you get the scaned raster image you can Place it into Illustrator put it onto it's own layer (locked) and then manually trace it for a vector of the image.

    Chris,

When you scan an image, the result is a raster image (usually a TIFF or JPEG). Place this into Illustrator, lock the layer, then use Illustrator tools to convert it to vector format, if that's what you need. Don't waste your time trying to use the AutoTrace tool. Most find that it's easier and faster using the Pen tool and bezier the arcs.

    Karen,

Is this one particular file or EVERY file?

Build it back up from zero by copy and paste, saving as you go, and thus find out the offending item.
