Illustrator 9.0 performance
Running Illustrator 9.0 in (Classic mode)keeps complaining " not enough memory to open a file". I allocated memory according to the system suggestion. Still not working, sometimes it is slow and crashing the system.
I have a POWER PC G4 10.1.5 OS X, 896MB RAM.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem.

Re: Illustrator 9.0 performance
If you want to work in OSX its best to use OSX native software.
Also 10.1.5 was an advaced beta at best i suggest upgrading your system to Panther.
I also recall that giveing an app more than 299MB in classic was bad.

Re: Illustrator 9.0 performance
Ramee,
If you are really running AI9.0 and not AI9.0.2, the problem is that you have saved the file with the window minimized. This was a bug in 9.0 that was fixed in 9.0.2. Up grade to that version. You can try to recover the files by placing them into a new, empty AI file.

Re: Illustrator 9.0 performance
I agree with you %100. In the meantime I like to fix this problem. I allocated 50000 to the Illustrator 9.0.1. and suggested was 40000.
Do you think If I put it to 40000 would make a difference. Also, I am going to upgrade the system to 10.2 Jaquar. do you think it might help?
