Default Illustrator 9 and postscript fonts on xp

Okay, I haven't had the chance to upgrade to Illustrator CS yet, and I'm still running 9. I just bought a new computer with Windows xp. I installed my old version 9, However,I wasn't able to install any of the original postscript fonts that came bundled with 9 because apparantly xp can't install the version of Adobe Type manager lite that also came with 9. Does anyone know if Windows xp automatically supports postscript fonts? If so, how do I install them on my system? If not, what should I do? I really need these fonts as many of my Illustrator files created on the old computer use them.

    Matt,

XP has native support for Type1 fonts. You can install them via
    C/Panel>Fonts
