    Default Illustrator and EPS files

Hi hopefully this will be obvious to all and someone can quickly clear this up for me.

I have a file thats been saved as an EPS file and everything is absolutely fine - when I 'Place' it in Indesign everything looks great and there are no problems at all.

BUT - when I add some text to the original Illustrator EPS file and then place the graphic it looks very jagged and with almost a cross hatch overlay in Indesign...

I have no idea why its doing this, whether its something obvious im missing about using EPS files or...well I just dont know to be honest!

Any HELP at all would be much appreciated.

    thanks

    Mark,

That sounds as though your additional text is going over an area of
transparency and consequently being rasterized when you save the EPS

You could try editing the Transparancy Flatner presets. Go to Edit,
Transparancy Flatner Presets, make a new preset based on High
Resolution, and check Convert all text to outlines and Convert all
strokes to outlines. Now when saving as eps select the new preset, and
your text will not be rasterised when touching objects with Transparancy...
