Default Illustrator creates a thin light border when prepared for web

I have an RGB document that I slice and save for web, and when I change the background color on the html document that was generated, a thin light border appears around the outside edge of the graphic.

Unfortunately, I can't find the cause of this problem, because on different illustrator files I have created it isn't an issue.

Any help would be appreciated, the version is Illustrator 10.

    Brandon,

It sounds as if the border is only there when you change the background (BG) colour. If the original BG was paler, I believe it may be your Matte setting in the Save for Web box: it should be close to the actual BG.

    Jacob,

Unfortunately that isn't the case, even when I set the matte color to the background color I still will get a thin light border around the image. The border also isn't consistent, as it will occassionally break up.

    Brandon,

    1) Are you sure the image fits the size allocated to it in the html document?

    2) Are you sure the thin was not there to begin with, only unnoticable on the original background colour?

Ultimately, it may be a Golive issue; if Golive is what you use.
