Default Illustrator CS/10 copy and paste to Freehand 10/MX vector distortion

I always found that vectors get distorted when I copy and paste to Freehand 10/MX from Illustrator CS and Illustrator 10, both operating in OS X.

This problem does not occur when I copy from Illustrator 9 (OS 9) to Freehand 10(OS X).

Why is that so? Memory management? Can that be rectified?

    Thanks.

What do you mean by "distorted?"

For example, instead of getting a smooth outline for the letter 'o' which has been outlined/pathed in Illustrator 10 and CS, we get a diamond-shaped letter 'o' when cut/copied and pasted to Freehand from Illustrator 10/CS. The letter 'o' retains it proper vector shape when it is transfered from Illustrator 9.

I think the appearance of the distortion is largely due to the alteration of the magnitude and direction of the vector points handles when copied from one programme to another. Can that be avoided?

Hmm. I'm not seeing this when I copy type converted to outlines in AICS and
paste it into FreeHand MX 11.0.1. Maybe we need a few more details. For example,
WHICH font or at least which style? Serif? Sans? Script? And what was the point size
prior to converting to outlines? I mean, are we talking about exceptionally small or
large type? And do you have the latest build of FHMX (11.0.1)?
