Illustrator CS and eps from Quark 6

I saved a file from Quark 6 as an eps and tried to open it in Illustrator CS. I got an error. I reinstalled Illustrator 10 and opened it with no problem. The only reason I need to do this is to turn the type into outlines as the printer requested.

We all know Quark's eps format is lame but why can Illustrator 10 open the file and Illustrator CS not? I am begining to get very sorry I upgraded to the CS creative suite!

Andy: Quark does not have a 'lame' eps format, it is still the standard in most output bureaus.

I had absolutely no problem opening a Quark 6.1 eps in IllCS. By the way, the 'save as' does not convert the fonts to curves.

What was the error message?
