Illustrator CS and Norton AntiVirus
I'm having a LOT of crashes of Illustrator CS on my dual 1.4 GHz, OS 10.2.8. I've searched and read all the crash messages and am wondering if this is a bug in Illustrator, or has something to do with Norton AntiVirus 9.0.2 that I'm running. I'm NOT running Norton Utilities, just AntiVirus. Anyone know about this? Or, does anyone have a solution to the Illustrator crashing problem? I've gone back to using Illustrator 10.
thanks,
Jack

Yes, this is a known issue. Get rid of Norton Antivirus.

Re: Illustrator CS and Norton AntiVirus
Damn. I just installed it because we had some dire warnings about Mac trojan horses. Is there a good, effective antivirus program you can recommend that will work with OSX and Adobe CS programs?

Re: Illustrator CS and Norton AntiVirus
Jack,
Leave it on the machine, just disable the Auto-Protect feature in the Control Panel.

Re: Illustrator CS and Norton AntiVirus
i removed ALL norton stuff on all the mac workstations i support at all the shops i support and replaced with virex (version 6.1 for os9 boxes and 7.2.1 for osx boxes).
norton dropped support for mac...goodby and good riddance. long live virex!
with no norton on any of my supported workstations, the vast majority of my illustrator problems are a thing of the past.

Re: Illustrator CS and Norton AntiVirus
even with "norton autoprotect" init disabled, norton causes "can't save illustration" problems.
remove ALL norton stuff. replace with virex 6.1 (os9) or 7.2.1 (osx).
