Illustrator CS DLL error

I have re-installed Illustrator CS from my Creative Suite standard cd. All of the included appications work except Illustrator. When I try to launch Illustrator it tells me that it can't find - "ai90res.dll". The system suggests I re-install Illustrator, which I have done about 10 times. I've also searched my system for the dll in question with no success. I've also searched the internet for that file, no success.

I'm guessing "ai90res.dll" is associated with Illustrator 9? I don't have 9 or 10 I went from 8 to CS.

I don't have 8 or 9 but do have 10 and Cs.
On my computer this file is located at:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\illustrator10\Support Files\Contents\Windows\System
As it is obviously not a CS file it's indeed a mystery why CS is complaining...

Thanks for the response Ron. Not to be disrespectful by any means to you but I had hoped that an Adobe tech might be monitoring the forum. It's not like I'm using boot leg software but I don't feel that I should have to pay for tech support on an ap that cost that much to begin with.

I have not been able to locate the file in question and I've wearied of the re-install the application requests. I haven't decided what my next approach will be.

hello, i have a similar problem, i installed illustrator cs3 in windows xp, but when i have to run it appears a message.... could not complete the request operation, then... the instruction at 0x00371940 referenced memory at 0x00000000. the memory could not be read...... and the program ends...., i really dont know what to do, it seams that illustrator.dll doesnt exist...... and i cant found it....
