illustrator CS drop shadow - blur not appearing as option
Hi, when I try to use filter or effect drop shadow on objects or any thing in illustrator CS, the blur option is grayed out and not usuable. Even if I raster the object it is still grayed out.
Thanks for any help.

Re: illustrator CS drop shadow - blur not appearing as option
Tim,
Are you sure the object you wish to have the Drop Shadow applied to has been selected?

Re: illustrator CS drop shadow - blur not appearing as option
Yes it has been selected. I can perform a drop shadow effect, but I cannot use the blur option. So if I use the drop shadow, it creates a solid drop shadow and there is no way to blur it in the options.
can send a screenshot if you like.

Re: illustrator CS drop shadow - blur not appearing as option
Tim,
Try deleting the AIPrefs file with Illustrator closed and see if you can now do it. I'm not having any trouble with either Blur or Drop Shadow (with offsets) of vector objects in Effects with either CMYK or RGB Illustrator CS.

Re: illustrator CS drop shadow - blur not appearing as option
I did a search for that file and could not find it within my installation folder, also checked the common files folder.
I could find a reference to it in the help files, but it was only along the lines of, if you have problems delete your preference file, and no direction on where to find it.
my installation path is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Illustrator CS
thanks for the help =)
