    Default Illustrator CS Gradient Postscript

I have a need to recolorized Illustrator EPS's after they are imported into my program (mostly I need to make sure the background contains 30% yellow). To do this I have successfully remapped the postscript calls setcmykcolor, setcolor and setgray for previous versions of Illustrator. In Illustrator CS this breaks again on gradients (non-gradients work just fine). Does someone know what changes in postscript were made with regards to gradients?
I also noticed that the gradient Ramp has been replaced with Samples and that the samples are encoded. What is the encoding used?

    Thanks

This should be an interesting thread...I'm having issues with CS gradients myself.
