Illustrator CS really SLOW!! Keeps crashing..

Does any find that Illustrator CS crashes all the time when doing simple copy pastes or text movements. I was very eager to purchase Adobe CS but now I feel like it was a waste of money since Illustrator 10 was working much better.

Here are my two main problems:
1. Illustrator CS will automatically crash when you do the easiest thing.
2. And when you are working in a text file like 2mb or so.. The text will move REALLY SLOWLY.. If you drag, or if you delete or edit the text.

I have run MacJanitor, My Disk Utility, Repaired Permissions.

I am running Panther 10.3.2 on a 733mhz G4. With 1 GB of RAM -- Adobe please HELP!

Did you delete the Adobefnt files?

OSX has lousy performance on machines like this, IMHO. Sorry.

I am having similar issues with Illustrator CS on a 667 mHz titanium with 768 mB of ram, running 10.3.2. Copying and pasting large chunks of text, sometimes from Word and sometimes between .ai docs brings up the beachball and I know that it's all over. Illustrator crashes about 5 to 10 times a week for me. That's an unacceptable amount for my main tool. At least the print dialogue is more functional and faster.

Aside from the crashes, I do find it less frustrating to work with than 10. Much less waiting around.

Do you have Spell Catcher and if so have you updated it?

You have to update if you have Spell Catcher the update I understand is perfect if that is not your problem. Do a search there are reasons for this and remedies as well.

Solution, get your money back, go back to using Illustrator 9. Sure the interface isn't pretty and you will have to work in classic os. As a professional graphic artist, anything after version 9 seemed to be buggy and sluggish for any serious, prolific workload.
