Illustrator-logo not transparent when placed in InDesign
Hi!
I have a problem with making our logo semi-transparent and som parts I want to be 100% transparent (I use Illustrator CS).
I use the paint bucket tool to make the part I want transparent.
I have tried saving the file as every type I can think of but every time I place the logo in InDesign CS the logo is not transparent at all - what do I do wrong? Please help me?
Thank you in advance!
Anita

Re: Illustrator-logo not transparent when placed in InDesign
Anita, I'm not sure I fully understand your problem, or what you're trying to accomplish. It depends on whether everything in your Illustrator file is vector, or if there are raster elements as well.
If it's all vector, there should be no problem with full transparency...in vectors, no object, no fill, and no stroke all equal 100% transparent.
For vector objects with varying degrees of opacity greater than 0, a placed .AI should work, but if it doesn't a workaround would be to Copy/Paste from Illustrator to InDesign, ungroup in InDesign and adjust opacity of individual elements there.
