Illustrator Ruler Resolution - Adobe Illustrator Windows

When using Photoshop on Windows, I can tell it to use 96 dpi as the screen resolution. This way when I see something "print size" and inch on my monitor is an inch on my graphic. Is there a similar setting in Illustrator. Right now it appears to use 72 dpi, so when I select 100% zoom I see everything 3/4 size. Thanks! Carlos...

I haven't fully explored this, but 72 dpi is standard screen resolution
for graphics. I don't think there really is a way to change it in
    Illustrator.

    Let's say you take something that's 4" x 3" 300dpi in Photoshop and
drop it into Illustrator... it will be 4" x 3". Now if you take
something 4" x 3" 72dpi in Photoshop and drop it into AI, it will
appear the same size as the 300dpi. AI takes the dimensions (not the
    res) to render the display.

AI is all relative. If you are using the default 8.5" x 11" doc setup,
and you haven't moved your page tiling around, then what you have on
your screen, its size in relation to the doent outline and page
tiling, is what is going to print.

If you want a quick trick to see more or less the actual print size,
bring up the rulers ([ctrl + r] in windows) and take a real ruler and
try to match the inch on the screen with the inch on the ruler by
zooming in or out of the doent. Once you have that, you'll know at
what zoom percentage you need to be for "actual size". It will be
    different on different monitors.

Intersting that AI doesn't have the same feature as Photoshop.

In Photoshop, there is a "print size" zoom button (or some similar
name, that when you hit it it displays what PS thinks the print size is
based on the information of monitor size, resolution, and image DPI.
If I tell Photoshop to use 96 dpi as its screen resolution, the
accuracy is better than 1/32". Nice thing about LCDs is how accurate
you can put a ruler against them :)

AI also has that same accuracy, if I zoom to 100% the image size is
exactly 75% of the printed size, regardless of monitor resolution or
size! At least in the two monitors I tried. It is 75% and not 100%
because it is using 72 dpi. I can of course always zoom in to 133% and
it will be "real-life" size. I just wanted to change it so that 100%
equals 100%; obviously not critical - just useful.
