    Default Illustrator Spot Colours

    Hi,
I have been trying to work out how I can save a paths eps logo as three Pantone spot colors for spot seperation on my works DTP (Direct-To-Plate) RIP. Ive never used Illustrator before, have no manual or referance book and havent been given long to solve a cutomers problem - but I'm stuck! :O Help would be MUCH appreciated.
    thanks :)

what is a "paths eps" ?

If you are speaking simply about some paths drawn in Illustrator, which have
had spot colors applied to them, then these should separate with out issue
assuming your Direct to Plate device is Postscript (can't imagine one that's
    not PS)

If you are saving the file as an EPS, how are you getting to RIP? Placing in
pagelayout program such as Quark or InDesign then printing Postscript,
printing PostScript from Illustrator, or downloading eps direct to RIP?

    Hi Larry, thanks for replying.
You are right to assume I am refering to some paths drawn in Illustrator, please excuse my garbled-tech-schpeel!
The problem (how ever embarrassing) I am having is not sending the file to print correctly, but actually assigning a true Pantone Spot colour to a path - any path! My illustrator seems to be missing the Pantone spot library and I can only chose from CMYK mixes. Where should the Pantone library be located within this version of Illustrator (CS)?
    Many thanks
