    Default Illustrator Trouble

Just recently I have been experiencing trouble while ususingllustrator 10.0.0
on my Win//PC. The following is a list of the problems I've been experienced:

    - When trying to change fill color of path/text/object, instead of the fill being changed it applies the change to the stroke.

    - Difficulty directly selecting objects/text. Also dragging to make a selection does not work either.

    - When moving objects across arart boardrails are left behind on screen. Best way that I can explain this is like the mouse pointer trails that you could put on cursors in Windows. Also when moving objects, sometimes they appear cut off, some parts of graphics don't appear, as if an white object is on top or something.

    Is this a corrupted file?

    Thank you in advance

    John,

Sounds like the good old AIPrefs file corruption. Try deleting it, FAQ #4.

    Default Re: Illustrator Trouble

Hi there, installed illustrator to my computer and i found out one problem with it. When i create some object and trying to apply 3D effect (extrude and bevel) alway illustrator will go freeze. What i mean by freeze? I mean by it, that graphical interface of program became white, i can move with mouse cursor, but part of prgram won`t appear. And that`s all. Then i can only shut down illustrator by task manager. I don`t know where is the problem, my system is fresh installed. I have 512MB RAM, IP 4 2.8 GHz HT, 200GB HDD, Geforce FX 5200. Adobe Photoshop is working without any problem.

    Can help me pls. thx.

P.S. I am not sure but i thing there there can be problem with DirectX 9.0 or later problem.

    Frank,

As a diagnostic try turning down the Hardware Acceleration to zero. If that
helps it indicates a video driver problem.
