    Default Image Help Needed

    Hello,

I have been provided with a .png file to use in a website. I'm not fluent
enough in DW to know whether this can be changed in DW, or in PS.

    Here's my question:
I have a photo saved as a .png file that needs to placed on my page. When I
place the photo in a table cell with a pre-defined background image, that
background image is not visible. Instead, the photo's background is visible.
How do I make the photo background transparent in DW?

Can this be changed using DW, or does the .png file need to be modified in
some way? If it needs to be modified in Photoshop, what needs to be done?

Thanks from a very green newbie :)

DW does not do any image editing.

Use PS and make the background transparent.

By the way... .png transparency is not supported in IE6 or earlier. There
are work arounds and you probably want to include one until you're pretty
certain everybody has upgraded to IE7

Until then, .png backgrounds will render as a solid, usually grey or
blue-grey in IE6 (that may be what you're seeing) check the site in FF or
EI7. the .png may already have a transparent background.
