Image Manipulation in Dreamweaver MX
I have a stationary jpeg (picture). I want to place linkable "buttons" on top
of the image. I can not figure out a way to do this. The manual doesn't
address it (at least not in a language I understand). Can anyone help me? Any
gurus out there?

another image button?
To do the first one you just need to apply any of the image map options
that come under your properties panel.
To do the second one, then I suggest using a table or a 'layer' and put
the image on the background.

Re: Image Manipulation in Dreamweaver MX
I have a jpeg image that I want to be stationary on the page. I want to place
"buttons" that are also jpeg images on top of the stationary image. Is there
an easy way to do this? I read about "layers" and "commands" but when I tried
to apply them, it didn't work. Is there an easy "drag & drop" solution? I
tried making the image a "background" but it consumed the entire page. please
help!

specify the 'depth'. But make sure that the position is resize-proof, you
can user % instead of pixel values.
