Image stretch vertically in table using CSS - Macromedia Dreamweaver

Hi folks, I've used the forum to get this far, but can't go further: Left-hand column of table contains two rows. Top half contain menu items. Want bottom half to stretch background image vertically. Have created a CSS for the following: Background > Background=fade.jpg Box > Height=100% I keep changing settings, but all I can seem to do is move the image around. Help please you experts!! CSS will not resize images, nor would you want it to. Background images
    tile, but don't resize.

What are you trying to do?

    Hi,

I'm trying to get an image to resize depending on the contents of the table. As the table column gets taller, I want the image to stretch to fill the column, or at least a cell.

I've just put the page under the link below.

Below the links on the left hand side, I'd like the image shown to stretch to fill the blank space.

    Any ideas?

    Piers:

No. It's not how images or tables work.
