- Create a new image 700x68. Insert your graphic; right align it.
- Set the background color to the blue you want. I used 0x000088.
- Commands>Creative>Fade image; play around until you get the effect you
want.

Hi Philip,
Your not missing anything. It's an MX feature.
You'll have to do it the hard way (not that hard, even fun if you enjoy this
sort of thing).
This is how I would do it.
Open a new canvas to your required width (700px)and height (70px) in your
dark blue color.Drag your image onto that canvas, or copy and paste.
Position it to the right edge.
Now draw out a rectangle that sits on top of everything and fill it with a
black/white linear fill, with black to the left and white to the right.
In the layers window select both your b&w image and the rectangle you have
just laid on top of everything go to modify and select Mask then Group as
Mask.
That should get you going. You can always go back and play around with the
gradient fill if needs be.

: Hi Philip,
:
Oops, My mistake they have reversed the black/white mask between FW4 and MX.
So you will need to have your gradient fill with the black on the right and
the white on your left.
