Images for the Web

I create web images using Photoshop 7. I save my images as in JPEG at a high quality compression format. However when I upload the images, they become darker and rather more saturated in colour, thus losing the colour quality and balance that I achieve in Photoshop. Is there any setting especially re colour profiles that I should do so that on the web I will achieve the same picture quality as in Photoshop?

George,

If you set your working RGB colour space to sRGB, your images will be far
nearer in appearance in Photoshop and on the web.

You should be using Save for Web, where the preview will match what you see
after uploading.

Or, jump to ImageReady (CTRL+Shift+M) for saving.

In ImageReady you'll be able to perform more onn-the-fly adjustments to your JPEGs before you save them. I find the Gamma adjustment to be quite useful for critical detail that I must make as clear as possible, across platforms.
