Images makes projector very big...
Hmm, I'm having a pretty strange problem here. I'm using Director 9 MX and I
have lots of images in my presentation. I have a intro with 30 different jpeg's
and the total size of those 30 images is 3.5mb.
Now, if I import a image that takes about 65kb it takes up 1.6mb(!) in
director. This means, my pretty simple presentation that should be <10mb big is
about 60mb big.
I thought there should be a solution for this problem and therefore I'm
posting here... Thankful for answers :)

Re: Images makes projector very big...
Director saves it's source file images in a lossless format (repeated
modify/save of jpeg compressed images degrades quality)
To make the distributed file smaller than a source .dir file you can
shockwave compress the media, using the jpeg compression publish option.
As long as you stick to a standard player there is no need to install
shockwave on the end user's system.
The alternativeis to input the jpeg files as external linked members.
There is a slight advantage to internal shockwave compressed members,
they get written to the disk surface in the order in which they appear
in the score, reducing CD seek delays.
