Your web server does not pass .htm(l) files to PHP , only .php files, the
PHP is not being interpreted and is being passed through to your browser,
who gets confused when it sees "<?php" because that's not an html tag.
Change your file extention to .php or reconfigure your web server to pass
..htm(l) files to PHP (not recommended).
