    Default Import a Transparent Image

I need to import an image with transparency. Freehand Help states that transparency is lost when you import a GIF file. Does anyone know a way around this?

There are lots of ways to deal with transparency in Freehand. Is it a hard edged transparency or soft? How detailed/accurate of an edge do you need?

What version of FH are you using? What is your intended end use?

FHMX will import GIF with transparency. This is useful for producing web
images and other raster images, but it's not a transparency that can be used
    for print.

Default Re: Import a Transparent Image

You should be able to import a PNG file. PNGs have the option of an 8-bit
(grayscale) transparency mask, while the GIF spec allows for only a 1-bit mask.

    Hope this helps!
