    Default import dxf into freehand

Does anyone have any guidelines they could share on successfully importing dxf
files into Freehand? I am running FHMX on WinXP. I don't have Illustrator,
which seems to be everyone else's solution that I have read so far.

I have tried exporting the files in AutoCad 12 and 15, but the annotations
seem to get left off somehow. They show up fine in simple CAD applications
like IntelliCAD, so I think they must be there... just hiding.

    Thanks in advance...

FH seems to be able to open some DXF files but it can take ages so I
found it not worth the trouble. Instead I have had great success with
having clients export to PDF (1.3 when in doubt) instead of DXF. FH can
    open those easily.

Sometimes the colours are lost after opening the PDF in FH but a few
days ago I posted the workaround I recently discovered. The thread was
called "Imported colour-PDFs show up in FH8 as greyscale only"
