I have a spreadsheet output from an Access db I receive every week.
Signs get printed in Indesign for a retail store, detailing the item
and the price.
Every week it is printed.

My question is can you save the Excel file as XML and import it to
Indesign directly?
I am reading a book on Indesign and it appears that Indesign can only
import Excel as tables.

What I would like is to automate the process. Create a sign template
with blanks for the name of the item and price and import the data into
the sign template, it would create as many signs as rows in the Excel
spreadsheet.

Any help would be apprediated,
