Imported TIFF from Photoshop goes grainy - Adobe Indesign Windows

I a good jpg images to uncompressed TIFF files in Photoshop. The TIFF lokks sharp in Photoshop. Then I imported the TIFF image in InDesign CS and even before I scale it, it appears grainy. How can it look good in Photoshop and bad in Indesign? Other TIFF images do not have this problem....

InDesign has the option to render on-screen graphics at low resolution or
not at all (you get a grey box) to speed up screen redraw when moving about
the page. You can set an overall default for the doent, and override this
for an individual graphic using the right click menu. Many users set the
default to Typical, overriding it to high quality when working on or around
a graphic. This only affects screen display. It has no effect on print
    output.

I have changed my preference to high-quality display. If I find that the screen redraw rate is too slow, your suggestion would be a good alternative.

Many thanks for your help. I hope my hair grows back soon.
