Importing Background?
Hi,
Thanks for any help. I was wondering if its possible to import a full background into fireworks? I know how to import images ect. But if I import a background in my picture files into fireworks it comes out as a little square and when I resize it, it distorts it and if I make it a style it doesn't show all the detail.
Thanks again.

Re: Importing Background?
You'll want to import it as a pattern or texture (depending on complexity of
the image and what you want to do with it) and then create a filled
rectangle with that pattern or texture.

Re: Importing Background?
Here are two ways to do it.
Draw a rectangle the size of your canvas.
Change the fill type of the rectangle from solid to Pattern in the
Property inspector.
Once the fill type has been set to pattern, click in the fill color box
to open the list of patterns.
Scroll down the list until you find the word Other, then click on it.
Browse to your background image.
or
Open Dreamweaver and add your background image to an HTML page.
Preview the page with the background in a browser and make a screen shot
of it.
Open the screen shot in Fireworks and crop as necessary.
Set Single Layer Editing in the layers panel and add a layer on top of
the background image so it doesn't move around while you are working.
Best regards,
Linda Rathgeber

Re: Importing Background?
Press the Print Screen key. In Fireworks choose File > New. You should
be prompted to accept a document window the same size your screen
resolution is set to. Click OK, then choose Edit > Paste. The screen
shot is pasted onto the new document window.
Best regards,
