Default importing export transparent image from photoshop to illustrator

    Hello
    I'm using win 2000
when importing either a clipping mask graphic created the normal way in the paths palette or via use of the export transparent image in Photoshop CS into illustrator 9.0 i get an outer blue lined box around the blue outline around the image itself which causes problems when saving either as a pdf or as a jpeg. Any ideas please? Thank you

    Anne,

First, update to Illustrator 9.0.2 <http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=1100> and see if that corrects things. Also you could probably use the clipping path in PhotoShop and File, Save As, Path to Illustrator which will make it into an unstroked .ai file. Give that a stroke in Illustrator 9.0.2 and use that for making it's clipping mask which should cut out the "blue" if it's still there after the update. Illustrator CS doesn't have that problem.

    Anne,

There is a problem when the clipping path touches the bounding box. If you
expand the canvas size in Photoshop before creating your clipping path, all
    should be well.
