Re: Importing Graphic
In reply to dshep's reply to me......
Hi, dshep, I have tried to work things out and ran a few test imports by creating a graphic in another program, other than Fireworks, and I seem to be haveing a bit more success.
Rather strangely, if I then open the exported image in Fireworks and re-save it, it somehow appears to import into Freehand OK.
There are some strange and inconsistent things going on...........
I will do some more testing and document it in a bit more detail and post up the results for you.
Regarding the blank image box with a cross in it.
That indicates that the image that is linked to that particular page/picture you have open in Freehand cannot be found.
What Freehand does with images imported into a new document is to create a link to the actual image rather than embed it into the actual page, unlike if you actually draw an image directly onto the document page.
The reason for the cross is because Freehand cannot find the actual image you have embedded into the document.
Possibly the easiest way to do it is to save/export the image into the same folder that you have the particular document/page from Freehand.
Then in the Freehand document you can import the image and save it.
If you then go and delete the image from the folder thinking that it is in Freehand, you will get the cross in a box next time you open that particular Freehand document, because Freehand is looking for the image that you deleted, as it is only linked and not embeded.
Hope this helps
Glen

importing graphic
When importing a graphic into flash mx (I have tried .gif, .wmf, and .jpg)
when the movie dimensions are stretched, flash tries to strentch the
graphic. I want the graphic to stay the same size and not scale. How can I
make it stay the same?
Thanks,
Scott
