Importing text in indesign
I have a acces database with seperate collums for names and adresses.
I'd like to be able to do a import from access to indesign 2.0.2 for
windows and make it fill in the cells in the corresponding fields.
It's for a list of all our members in the yearbook. I could not find
the indesign way of doing this. But i found InData 2.0 as a plugin. It
this way to expensive for me. It has to be a picture with next to his
or hers address. And that repeated 800 times. Does anyone have
experience with this sort of thing?

Access database into InDesign. However, if you can settle for the text
part only, there are a couple ways to do it that are free.
First, if you have Word, do a mail merge of the text into Word. Then
copy and paste the text from Word into InDesign.
If you don't have Word, download OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org),
which is a free office suite. I use it to merge data from Access into
text files all the time. You can copy and paste from it into InDesign
just as you can from Word.
But your pictures will not survive the trip through the word
processor. You'll have to place those manually.
