Importing text into IIlustrator 10 as paragraph text. possible? how?
How do I go about bringing text from, say, a WORD .doc document and have the text retain its paragraph editability, that is to say to have the ability to change the margins and have the text re-flow within the paragraph in Illustrator 10?

Copy text in Word, switch to AI, drag out an area type box with your Type tool,
Paste (into the area type box).

File?Place will also work. with or without a text box though I get a funny symbol when there is an extra line space between paragraphs if you delete them they have no effect on the line space or text flow.

Re: Importing text into IIlustrator 10 as paragraph text. possible? how?
One way:
Make the selection tool active (V); make the type block's bounding box
active (View>Show Bounding Box); drag any of the 8 handles of the
bounding box.

Re: Importing text into IIlustrator 10 as paragraph text. possible? how?
BTW you can flow the text into other boxes as well by either linking them or resizing the original to create an overflow and then clicking on the over flow symbol at the lower right corner of the text box to load the cursor with the over flow text and then
clicking the cursor in the position you want the overflow to occupy.
