Importing vector art (smoothly) into Flash
I am designing my company's site, (the intro page will be in Flash,) and I have designed some small vector art graphics. They are line art/contour drawings with a 1-pt. color stroke and all black fill.
I'm having trouble getting them into Flash. I have MX; for some reason, it will not read the .eps extension. So I have been bringing them into Photoshop and exporting them that way, as gifs. This makes the color strokes appear pixelated, though.
Any ideas? (I'm not trying to enlargen them in Flash; quite the opposite, I'm bringing them in a little larger and making them smaller in Flash.)
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: Importing vector art (smoothly) into Flash
You could always, from Illustrator, Save for Web in the swf format. Then
import into Flash. I have never really figures this out ... sometimes the
EPS work fine and sometimes I get the same problem as you. I'm no expert,
and there might be a better way, but this always seems to work for me.

if you are using adobe illustrator, you can export it to a swf file, i use that and works perfect, in the file menu select export, then select Macromedia SWF file, and customize the options for the file tha is all, then in Flash import the file you just create

Re: Importing vector art (smoothly) into Flash
Thank you. Yes, that worked. I just find it really odd that [my version of] Flash cannot import .eps files.
I appreciate your input; you definitely helped. Thanks again!

Re: Importing vector art (smoothly) into Flash
if ur using pc, u can also wmf format, its possible from corel, or u can copy paste ur vector graphic from corel to flash, there is an option 'paste in special'
i don't know illustrator supports wmf format
as far as iam concern flash is the best tool for making vector graphics
u can use wmf format, advantage is it place in flash as vector graphic made in flash itself, so tht u can edit in flash itself. it will import as grouped obj, just break [ctrl B]

I would have to disagree - i think adobe's illustrator offers much more
power and flexability.

Re: Importing vector art (smoothly) into Flash
I definitely agree that Illustrator is better for drawing vector art. I was actually getting worried that I would HAVE TO redraw them in Flash.
I use a Mac, so the .swf was the solution. But I will keep in mind the .wmf in case I ever have to design on a PC.
