    Default importing W3D in MAX

    Hi! I'm trying to import a W3D file in 3Dstudio MAX but I can't...
Max know how to export it but don't know how to import.
My W3D file was created with Plasma (a light version of max optimised for
Shockwave) but I really need to import it into Max.
Please, if someone know about a plugin, I would be so happy...

First of all, a W3D file is a copyrighted file ! You're not allowed to import
(in order to edit) this kind of files. If 'your' W3D file comes from a
    friend,ask him for the 3DS file. Anyway, a W3D Importer for 3DS Max doesn't
    exist. no offense ... cheers

hum, so I'll try to explain better :

I have modelised my school with PLASMA and I still have my P3D file. With this
software, I can export my scene in W3D to import it in Director (what I
    actually did in fact...).
But plasma is so light that discreet stoped the software to include it
    fonctions into max.
So now, if I want to use Global Illumination in my scene (for exemple), I can
only do it with MAX! So my question is :
Is there a way to import/convert my scene for max? (starting from a P3D or
W3D, or any kind of file plasma can create...)Someone told me that a plugin
allow to import W3D file into max and added that I could find it on this
website. I really trust him but he may be wrong... Anyway if someone can help
    me.....

Unfortunately Plasma can import .3ds files, but Max can't import .p3d files.
And nothing can import .w3d files.

So basically there is nothing you can do, other than re-creating the scene
    entirely in Max.

If you are using the model of your school in Director, have you considered
just creating your lights using Lingo?

Only Director can import .w3d files, although many programs can make them.
I've never used plasma, but can't it export something max can import? I'd
sure think it could export .3ds at least...
