    Hi Jamie,

    You can do this with 'cloneModelFromCastmember'. Just make sure you pre-load the model before doing anything with it or youl get an error message.

    Are you able to be more specific is that like a piece of lingo code you use?

    Thanks enrique for the lingo code,

    Unfortunately i still cant this working:

    What i done was i made the model in 3d Studio Max then exported it as a W3D
    model in to director. The names are below if anyone could tell me how to
    write it in my lingo script i would much appreciate it- two days ive been
    trying to get this model in to director.

    The cast member is called "Jack Lantern" and the 3D Enivornment i want to
    export it in to is called "Tire World". How do i get the original model name
    and how would i write this line carrectly:

    myModel=member("destination member").clonemodelfromcastmember("new
    name","original name", member("sourc member"))

    Please can somebody help me with this...

    Hi Jamie,

    I had a lot of trouble with this at first. Try the code below.

    1st parameter: Specifies the model to clone.

    2nd parameter: Specifies the cast member that contains the model to clone.

    3rd parameter: This HAS to match the name the model is called in Max.

    Hope this helps,
    Dave

    loadW3D("Name2", "Name2", "box01")

    on loadW3D( aName, anotherName, castMemberName)

    --import box02 from W3D file
    propName = pScene.cloneModelFromCastmember( aName, anotherName, member(
    castMemberName ) )
    propName.transform.scale = vector(0.1, 0.1, 0.1)
    propName.transform.position.x = 60
    propName.transform.position.y = -80
    propName.transform.position.z = 70
    propName.rotate(90, 0, 180)

    end loadW3D()

    Fantastic i have got this working. Thanks Dave.

    Only one glitch...whenever u save the movie it comes up with an error and i
    have to reload the cast member with the model in it back again...any ideas how
    to stop this error happening?
